West Pines Kickoff Classic Boys Weekend 2023

The West Pines Kickoff Classic Boys Weekend is a soccer tournament for select teams of all ability levels. It will be held on October 6-8, 2023, at various fields in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

The tournament is open to boys teams born in the years 2004-2011. Teams will be divided into age groups:

  • U10 (born in 2011-2012);
  • U11 (born in 2010-2011);
  • U12 (born in 2009-2010);
  • U13 (born in 2008-2009);
  • U14 (born in 2007-2008);
  • U15 (born in 2006-2007);
  • U16 (born in 2005-2006);
  • U17 (born in 2004-2005).

Teams will play a round-robin format, with each team playing three games. The top two teams in each age group will advance to the championship bracket, and the bottom two teams will play in the consolation bracket.

The tournament will be held at the following fields:

Check-in for the tournament will be held on Friday, October 6th, from 8:00am to 9:00am, at the Chapel Trail Sports Park. The tournament will begin on Friday at 10:00am, and will conclude on Sunday with the championship games.

The cost to participate in the tournament is $275 per team. The fee includes referees, field fees, and tournament shirts.

To register for the tournament, please visit the West Pines United website. The registration deadline is September 15th, 2023.

Rules

The following rules will be in effect for the West Pines Kickoff Classic Boys Weekend:

  • The game clock will be 25 minutes in length, with a running clock;
  • There will be a two-minute break between halves;
  • There will be no overtime or shoot-outs;
  • The winner of each game will be the team with the most goals scored;
  • In the event of a tie, the game will be decided by a penalty shootout;
  • The tournament director has the final say on all matters pertaining to the tournament.

Awards

The following awards will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament:

  • Champion;
  • Runner-up;
  • Third place;
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP);
  • Golden Boot (top scorer);
  • Golden Glove (best goalkeeper).
